A qualified applicant will have:
Excellent customer service skills Able to learn a new field in healthcare if no prior experience Able to multitask Be reliable in coming to work daily and on time The following is a list of typical daily duties however, it may not be all-inclusive. We like to take a team approach to serving our patients, which may require you to perform duties that are usually your co-worker's primary responsibilities. Reception Open and prepare the office for the day Greet patients as soon as they enter the office Answer telephone calls/schedule appointments Post payments Call to confirm next day's patients Advance calls to pre-appoints to remind them of appointments File charts/maintain filing system Collect payment from patient Enter patient charges into the computer Schedule appointments Enter patient info into computer Prepare next day charts Send insurance claims and electronic billing Implement recalls Thank you letters for referrals Keep front desk area organized Keep reception room clean Empty wastebaskets and recycling as scheduled Vacuum carpets Optometric Assisting Start patient exam with case history, autorefraction, FDT, and Optomap Assist opticians with optical duties Keep contact lens trials organized and stocked Order contact lenses for patients Compensation is based on the candidate's level of experience.
