Department:
Administration Cherry Brook Health Care Center, a division of New Horizons, Inc., is a 100 bed skilled nursing facility located in Canton, CT. Cherry Brook's mission is to provide the highest quality of care and customer service to our residents and their families by using best practices, highly trained staff and innovative programs and services designed to meet their needs.PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION
The primary purpose of your position is to perform clerical support in an efficient manner as the receptionist in the lobby of our health center. Operate telephone switchboard. Utilize proper phone etiquette. Receive and direct all persons entering the facility to appropriate areas. Responsible for general typing and secretarial functions. Is responsible to receive and direct incoming mail and deliveries appropriately. Contribute to and promote resident and family relations. Knowledgeable in facility's Privacy Practice and complies by protecting all residents' health information. Demonstrate leadership skills. Knowledge about laws and regulations relating to job responsibilities, e.g., EEO, OSHA, patient rights, fraud/abuse laws. Required documentation/record keeping is accurate, complete and timely. Reports suspected violations of federal and state laws and any types of misconduct to facility administrator, or other appropriate staff member.EXPERIENCE
Customer service experience, strong computer and phone system skills; Must have a working knowledge of filing and respect for confidentiality.SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergencies. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures and guidelines. Must possess a cheerful personality and be ability to work harmoniously with other personnel. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Is knowledgeable of all office equipment. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with other personnel. Must be able to lift and move equipment, supplies, etc., without restriction. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.EEO STATEMENT
