Located in the heart of Milford, Connecticut, we house children ages 6 weeks to 6 years in a beautiful building specifically designed for early childhood education. Our NAEYC accredited center applies a play to learn methodology and focuses on meeting every child's developmental and social-emotional needs. Job Overview Good Child Development Center is looking for a warm, alert, and dependable person to join our front desk team in a part time flex capacity. This is a straightforward but critically important role. You are the first line of safety for our children and families. The person in this position controls who enters our facility, and that responsibility is taken seriously. Duties Monitor and control building access by opening the door only to approved individuals after confirming their identity and the purpose of their visit Greet families, staff, and visitors in a warm and professional manner Build familiarity with enrolled families and their children to better identify authorized visitors over time Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally Take accurate messages and ensure they reach the appropriate person Receive and log documents delivered to the front desk Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area at all times Safety Note The security of our children and staff is the top priority of this role. No individual may enter the facility without proper verification. This is a non-negotiable expectation and the foundation of this position. Experience Previous experience as a receptionist or in a clerical role preferred. Previous experience in a childcare setting is ideal. Familiarity with front desk operations in a childcare setting is a plus. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle inquiries professionally. Familiarity with phone systems is a plus. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
