Job Description

We are a busy, patient-focused optometry practice seeking a friendly, organized Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. Our office values warm professionalism, and excellent patient care. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, works well in a fast-paced environment, and communicates clearly and effectively with both patients and staff. Northwood Vision is a private practice optometry clinic providing eye examinations, glasses, contact lenses, and medical eye care in Clearwater FL near Safety Harbor by Dr. Christopher Keats, O.D. Responsibilities Warmly greet patients, check them in, and keep the schedule running smoothly Answer phone calls, manage messages, and assist with appointment requests Verify insurance benefits and collect co-pays or balances Handle patient forms, scan documents, and maintain accurate records Coordinate with the doctor, opticians, and billing team to support patient flow Keep the front desk area tidy, organized, and welcoming Provide exceptional customer service at all times What We're Looking For A positive, calm, and professional communicator Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Dependability and willingness to learn Comfort with computers and office software (experience in healthcare or optometry is a plus but not required) Someone who works well as part of a dynamic team with diverse personalities and treats patients and coworkers with respect and compassion Schedule & Compensation Full-time position. If you have not worked in an optometric setting, what skills and experience do you have that may add value to our office? This position will require you to spend a significant amount of time on a computer, navigating an electronic health record with efficient typing skills while on the phone for scheduling and billing. You will be answering phone calls multiple times per hour and communicating directly with patients coming and going. Describe your past experiences, if any, with these types of activities.
Education:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
Computer Skills:
2 years (Preferred) Medical/optometric receptionist: 1 year (Preferred)
