Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday Job Overview Nextaff is seeking an experienced Front Office Medical Assistant for a busy pediatrics practice in St. Augustine, FL. This is a temporary 4-week assignment with the possibility of extension, ideal for a medical front office professional who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. You'll serve as the first point of contact for families and play a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Answer and screen high-volume incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner Schedule pediatric patient appointments and procedures according to practice protocols Check patients in and out efficiently while delivering excellent customer service Obtain accurate patient demographic and insurance information Collect copays and patient balances; reconcile charges daily Verify account balances and assist families with billing-related questions File records and maintain patient charts within the EMR system Prepare charts in advance and scan documentation into EMR Transcribe letters and create forms as needed Maintain front office organization, confidentiality, and workflow efficiency Perform other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of medical front office, pediatrics, or scheduling experience Strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced pediatric medical office High school diploma or GED required, background & drug screening required Preferred Experience Experience using eClinicalWorks EMR (preferred) Pediatrics practice experience strongly preferred Familiarity with insurance verification, copays, and patient billing Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Why Work With Nextaff?
