The Front Office Receptionist position in Health Care Services is a critical role focused on delivering exceptional patient and visitor experiences through efficient and professional front office operations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff, ensuring smooth communication and coordination within the facility. The incumbent will manage appointment scheduling, patient registration, and handle inquiries with accuracy and empathy, contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the healthcare environment. Additionally, this role involves collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to support patient flow and maintain accurate records. Ultimately, the Front Office Receptionist professional plays a vital role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere and supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.Positions available:
Lakewood Ranch Medical Office (part-time): Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 9am-5pm Lakewood Ranch Radiology (part-time): Saturdays and Sundays, 8am-5pm Sarasota Radiology (PRN/part-time): Weekdays, evenings and weekends as needed Sarasota Cardiology (full-time): Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Sarasota Oncology-Hematology (full-time): Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Shift differential compensation available for weekend shifts.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience in a front office or administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and appointment scheduling software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or certification in healthcare administration or related field is preferred. Knowledge of insurance terminology. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards. Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.Responsibilities:
Assist patients and visitors promptly and courteously, providing clear information and directions as needed. Manage patient appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling using healthcare management software. May perform patient registration, verify insurance information, and ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed. Handle incoming calls and inquiries, transcribing messages appropriately and providing timely responses. Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to facilitate patient flow and resolve scheduling conflicts. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations.Skills:
