Jobs › Ayer, MA › Front Desk Administrator Robert Half Front Desk Administrator Ayer, MA Apply Description We are looking for a Front Desk Administrator to support daily office operations in Ayer, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can create a welcoming front-office experience while also assisting with administrative and HR-related tasks. The person in this role will serve as a key point of contact for visitors, callers, and internal staff, helping keep the office organized and responsive.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome visitors, manage front desk activity, and ensure guests are directed promptly and professionally.
- Handle a multi-line phone system, screen incoming calls, and route messages to the appropriate team members.
- Respond to email inquiries and support day-to-day communication with employees, candidates, and external contacts.
- Assist with administrative HR activities such as maintaining records, preparing documents, and coordinating routine employee-related processes.
- Support general office operations by organizing paperwork, tracking supplies, and keeping shared areas presentable.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and other front-office activities to help maintain an efficient daily workflow.
- Provide coverage for duties previously managed by the office manager and help ensure continuity across administrative functions. Requirements
- Prior experience in a front desk, receptionist, or office administration role.
- Ability to manage a multi-line phone system and handle a high volume of inbound calls with professionalism.
- Working knowledge of HR administrative support and confidential document handling.
- Strong written communication skills for managing email correspondence clearly and accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks throughout the day.
- Comfortable interacting with visitors, employees, and leadership in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
