POSITION SUMMARY
The Welcome Center Receptionist is responsible for providing high-quality customer service and administrative support as the primary point of contact for the Farley Welcome Center and Central Administration offices. This role focuses on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for families, students, and community members while efficiently managing incoming communications. Under the direction of the Director of Student Registration, the Receptionist assists families with school enrollment services and guides them through the pre-registration process for incoming students. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills, cultural proficiency, and the ability to provide clear, accurate information to a diverse community. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Requirement:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Professional Experience:
Previous experience in office management, administrative support, or program coordination preferred.
Language Proficiency:
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for all visitors to the Farley Welcome Center and Central Administration, ensuring a professional, cordial and welcoming "on-stage" environment. Manage high-volume communication channels, including answering, screening, and routing calls to the appropriate departments while offering language assistance as needed. Respond to all telephone, email, and in-person inquiries with a high degree of professionalism, politeness, and responsiveness. Coordinate with various offices and departments to announce and facilitate visitor arrivals. Provide accurate and comprehensive information regarding Welcome Center services, district resources, and hours of operation. II- Office Administration and Compliance Support the Human Resources Office by facilitating background check processes for volunteers, vendors, and contractors, including the direct verification of applicant identities and documentation. Execute security protocols by digitally verifying visitor identification using district-designated systems to ensure a safe environment. Maintain the reception area to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization to reflect the district's professional image. Coordinate the scheduling and confirmation of registration appointments, including making proactive reminder calls and sending reminder emails to families. Collaborate effectively with Welcome Center staff to ensure seamless departmental operations and clear internal communication. III. Family Support and Student Enrollment Facilitate the pre-registration process by guiding families through the completion of online enrollment forms and digital documentation. Provide specialized outreach and technical support to families with limited technology proficiency, ensuring equitable access to district services. Assist in breaking down barriers for diverse families by providing clear instruction and navigating language or technical hurdles during the intake process. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Registration.

Mobility, Navigation & Travel:
Must move about and traverse throughout the central office building. Requires the ability to travel to and navigate effectively throughout various school buildings and district grounds for meetings, site visits, or emergency responses.
Stationary Tasks:
Often remains in a stationary position for considerable periods of time for administrative tasks, virtual/in-person meetings, reporting, and extensive data entry.
Sensory Requirements:
Must be able to see and hear continuously to participate in meetings, monitor district operations, and ensure safety when visiting active school environments.
Communication:
Must communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with district personnel, school staff, and the public in person, via email, and on the telephone or video conference.
Manual Dexterity & Technology:
Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must be able to operate a computer, input digital/printed data, and use other office productivity machinery continuously throughout the day.
General Physical Strength:
Expected to lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., laptops, presentation materials, files, or office supplies) between the central office and school sites.
Working Environment:
Works primarily in a professional office setting with moderate noise levels, but must be able to adapt to dynamic, higher-noise school environments during site visits and observations.
Interaction & Focus:
Must interact routinely with diverse stakeholders, meet multiple high-level demands simultaneously, and maintain focus on complex tasks amid frequent interruptions.

Work Year:
260 days (Twelve Months) This is an in person job. This job does not qualify for remote or hybrid work. The District reserves the right to transfer personnel as needed.
