Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Pain Management Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical administrative support, with excellent communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of medical office operations. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, handling billing processes, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations. The successful candidate will be proactive, organized, and committed to providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Greet patients professionally and manage multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette. Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Athenahealth. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate accurate billing and claims processing, PRIOI
AUTHORIZATION.
Assist with medical documentation review, ensuring accuracy and completeness of patient records. Handle medical billing and collection processes, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims submission. Maintain accurate and organized medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations for health information management. Support clinical staff with intake procedures, care plan documentation, and medical coding tasks. Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office and specialized dental or medical office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries promptly and maintaining a welcoming front desk environment. Skills Extensive experience with EMR systems including Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms. Proficiency in medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and documentation review. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance standards, and health information management practices. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy healthcare setting. Exceptional communication skills for interacting professionally with patients, providers, and insurance companies. Competency in clerical tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems. Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy under pressure while providing outstanding customer service.
