Description Specialty Services | Not an Entry-Level Role Carolina Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative (CSR) to support our Specialty Services team in Hickory, NC. This is a high-impact, client-facing role designed for professionals who excel in veterinary reception, client engagement, and service excellence within fast-paced medical environments. Our Veterinary Receptionists/CSRs are essential to the patient experience—guiding clients from initial contact through discharge and follow-up with accuracy, empathy, and professionalism. As a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital , CASE provides Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency & Critical Care services. This role requires individuals who are confident in advanced client communication, scheduling complexity, and multi-department coordination . What You'll Do Deliver an elevated veterinary receptionist / client service experience from first interaction through completion of care Manage high-volume phone lines and front desk operations with efficiency and professionalism Schedule and coordinate specialty appointments with strong attention to detail Serve as a liaison between clients, specialists, and clinical teams Provide clear, compassionate communication regarding services, expectations, and timelines Maintain accurate and thorough client and patient records Navigate sensitive or emotional situations with confidence and professionalism Support client retention and satisfaction through exceptional service What We're Looking For This is not an entry-level Veterinary Receptionist role . We are seeking professionals who are already confident in their abilities and can contribute immediately.

Required:

2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Receptionist, Veterinary CSR, or medical front desk professional (veterinary, specialty, ER, or human healthcare) Proven ability to manage high-volume client interactions Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong multitasking and organizational abilities Ability to maintain professionalism in fast-paced, high-stress environments

Preferred:

Experience in veterinary specialty or emergency medicine Familiarity with advanced scheduling systems and EMR platforms Demonstrated success in client engagement, retention, or service excellence roles

About Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital is a multi-specialty practice with specialists in internal medicine, surgery, behavior, rehabilitation and 24-hour emergency and critical care housed in a beautiful newly built 12,000-square-foot hospital in Hickory, NC. In hospital we have comprehensive in house laboratory equipment that includes chemistry, cbc, epoc, blood gas, sedivue, fecal imagyst, telecytometry, ability to have consultation and recommendation from boarded radiologist and clinical pathologist for best in the moment patient care, oxygen therapy (multiple snyder icu cages and high flow). We have the ability to provide superior specialty care with computed tomography, fluoroscopy, digital radiology, color-flow doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, minimally invasive surgical equipment, and comprehensive surgical instrumentation. We are able to provide radioactive iodine therapy for cats with hyperthyroidism and have a fully equipped rehabilitation suite with k- laser, e-stim, oasis underwater treadmill as well as exercise treadmill for assisting patients with pre and post op recovery.
