Job Description

Pay:
$23-$26/hr (based on experience and working interview) About the Role This is NOT an entry-level position. Dental front office experience is required. Falls Lake Dental is a modern, single-doctor private practice in Raleigh. We're hiring a Front Desk / Insurance Coordinator (Support Role) to work alongside our Lead Coordinator and help stabilize and strengthen our front office systems. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, calm under pressure, and takes ownership of follow-through—especially with insurance accuracy, claims/EOBs, treatment plan follow-up, and hygiene recall . We are only considering candidates with recent dental front office experience. Medical office experience alone is not a substitute.
MUST HAVE
2+ years dental front office (not medical) Personally handled: insurance verification + breakdowns, claims submission, EOB posting, denial follow-up/resubmissions Comfortable collecting balances + discussing costs at check-out Strong reliability/attendance; able to commit to Mon-Thu and arrive by 7:45 AM for huddle Preferred Open Dental (or learn quickly) Flex Dental or similar patient communication platform Key Responsibilities Front Desk & Patient Experience Answer phones, schedule appointments, confirm appointments, manage the schedule efficiently Check-in/check-out patients and collect payments at time of service Communicate professionally and confidently with patients regarding costs and next steps Maintain clear documentation and notes in Open Dental/Flex (calls, texts, emails, follow-ups) Insurance & Financial Coordination (High Priority) Verify insurance benefits accurately and document breakdowns Submit claims, track outstanding claims, post EOBs, and address denials Follow up on claims with carriers and patients as needed Maintain strong attention to detail to prevent insurance and billing errors Treatment Plan & Recall Follow-Up (High Priority) Support treatment plan follow-up using a consistent protocol (2-day / 2-week / 2-month) Help fill hygiene schedule holes and reduce cancellations/no-shows Run daily/weekly follow-up lists and track progress (calls/texts/email + documentation) Success in This Role Looks Like You reliably execute follow-up systems without constant reminders Insurance tasks are accurate and claims/EOB/denial work stays current Hygiene and treatment plan follow-up is consistent and documented The front desk runs smoother with fewer bottlenecks Compensation & Growth $23-$26/hour depending on experience and fit 4-day work week (Mon-Thu) PTO + paid holidays (details provided after interview) Dental benefits for employee/immediate family (details reviewed during offer stage) 401(k) with match/profit share eligibility after 1 year (per plan) Growth opportunities over time for the right person How to Apply Please apply with your resume. Yes/No + any constraints. Are you comfortable collecting patient balances at time of service and discussing costs confidently?
