Where You'll Work CHI Oakes Hospital, is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health. Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Clinic Receptionist, you will be the welcoming heart of our clinic, creating a comforting and efficient environment for every patient journey.
Every day, you will expertly manage patient reception, coordinate essential administrative tasks, leverage technology for seamless operations, and thoughtfully guide diverse patient populations, ensuring they feel at ease and understand their care instructions.

Responsibilities Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and outstanding customer service skills. Performs patient check-in at the time of the visit, interviews patients and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all clinic and regulatory policies are in compliance. Copies/scan patient medical records, benefits/insurance information, and related hardcopy materials (e.g. ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record system. Collects patient responsibility payments and answers routine patient insurance and billing inquiries. Answers phone calls, schedules appointments, ensures insurance coverage, and alerts patients as to what documentation is needed, including details associated with time-of-service payment schedules.
