Job Description

Receptionist - Feline-Only Veterinary Clinic Cherry Hill, NJ Part-Time The Cat Clinic at Cherry Hill is looking for a warm, friendly, and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our dedicated team. We are a feline-only veterinary practice with a loyal and loving client base who expect—and deserve—exceptional service with every visit. As the first face our clients see and the voice they hear on the phone, our receptionist plays a vital role in creating a calm and welcoming environment for both our clients and their feline companions. The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have prior experience working in a veterinary hospital or specialty veterinary practice Be comfortable handling high call volumes while maintaining professionalism and compassion Understand veterinary terminology, vaccine schedules, common medications, and basic preventative care recommendations Be able to multitask efficiently between phones, scheduling, client communication, records, and patient flow Remain calm and organized during busy or emotionally challenging situations Have excellent attention to detail and strong follow-through Be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Responsibilities Include:
Scheduling appointments appropriately based on patient needs Communicating with clients regarding appointments, records, medications, diagnostics, and follow-up care Managing incoming phone calls, emails, and online requests Assisting with patient check-in and check-out Processing payments and maintaining accurate records Coordinating with veterinarians and technicians to support efficient workflow Assisting with daily cleaning and closing duties to help maintain a clean and organized hospital environment Supporting overall clinic operations as needed, including restocking, laundry, and general upkeep Opportunities available for cross-training as a veterinary assistant for candidates interested in expanding their skills and responsibilities
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Understands the pace and unpredictability of veterinary medicine Can balance empathy with efficiency Is proactive and able to anticipate needs Values teamwork and positive communication Takes pride in reliability and consistency
Preferred Qualifications:
Veterinary receptionist experience strongly preferred Experience with veterinary software such as Avimark, Daysmart, ezyVet, or similar systems Knowledge of feline behavior and handling is a plus Experience in a cat-only or Fear Free practice is highly valued A genuine love of cats is essential!
