Optical Receptionist

Duties Greet patients and customers, check them in/out, and create a welcoming, organized environment. Book, confirm, and manage eye exam appointments while coordinating doctor availability. Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and direct questions to appropriate staff. Collect and update patient information, insurance details, and medical history accurately. Verify vision insurance eligibility and explain basic coverage to patients. Maintain records, file paperwork, and ensure accurate data entry in the system. Handle transactions, co-pays, and receipts in a professional manner. Communicate with opticians and optometrists to ensure smooth patient flow. Keep the reception area clean, stocked, and running efficiently. Address concerns, provide updates on wait times or orders, and ensure a positive experience.
