Job Description
The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking a dependable and personable Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the primary point of contact for our office and patrons. In this role, you will represent the organization by providing helpful service over the phone and a professional welcome to all in-person visitors. We are looking for an individual who enjoys interacting with the public and wants to support the local arts community through consistent, high-quality customer service.

Executive Director Work Cycle:
20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, occasional Saturdays or Sundays.Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales:
Handle box office ticket sales in person and over the phone. Process transactions and provide information regarding upcoming performances and seating.Phone Outreach:
Conduct outbound calls to patrons for subscription renewals, concert feedback, or general inquiries. Manage the main phone line and route calls as needed.Reception & Hospitality:
Greet visitors warmly and manage the front lobby. Ensure a professional environment for guests and staff.Administrative Support:
Sort mail, coordinate deliveries, monitor office supply levels, other tasks as assigned.Team Support:
A proactive willingness to assist colleagues with basic administrative tasks or special projects during periods when the front desk workload is light.Requirements & Qualifications Interpersonal Skills:
Must be comfortable talking to people. A clear, professional phone voice and a welcoming attitude are essential. Professional appearance is expected.Reliability:
Strict punctuality and consistent attendance are required to ensure the front desk is covered during business hours.Technology:
Functional computer literacy with the ability to perform administrative tasks and process transactions, along with a willingness to learn new office systems as needed.Penmanship:
Ability to produce neat, handwritten correspondence.Education:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.Experience:
Previous experience in retail, customer service, or hospitality is a plus.Event Availability:
Must be available to work occasional evenings or weekends for concerts and special events.Physical Ability:
Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds, including boxes of program books, heavy parcels, and concert and event supplies.
