Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor to create a welcoming environment.
DEFINITION
Under general supervision, perform a variety of challenging administrative duties; assists the Criminal Justice Authority as needed, performs general receptionist tasks.EXAMPLES OF WORK PEFORMED
Greet and welcome visitors. Manage incoming and outgoing calls using a multi-line phone system, directing them to the appropriate personnel or department. Assist visitors with sign-in procedures and direct them to the appropriate area. Inform the appropriate employees of arriving guests. Manage and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries. Maintain visitor logs and adhere to security protocols for building access. Proficient in operating office equipment, including fax machines, multi-line phone systems, desktop computers, calculators, and other related devices, with the capability to troubleshoot minor issues when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of using a fax machine, multiple phone line system, desktop computer, calculator, and other related office machines. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite. Competency and ability with spelling, punctuation, business English and business math, office methods and procedures, record keeping, laws, resolutions, regulations governing county matters, and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and deal tactfully with other departments, and the public. Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle interactions professionally. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate reliability in handling sensitive information.QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma with at least two years of full-time, paid experience in administrative, secretarial, or related roles is preferred. Or a combination of experience and education that demonstrates knowledge and skills in administrative processes.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from citizens, allied agencies, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.WORK ENVIROMENT
