Job Description

The Women's, Children's & Rheumatology Clinic is seeking a motivated, positive person to join our team to provide excellent customer service to our patients. The Clinic Receptionist directly interacts with patients on the phone and/or in-person to support front office business operations of the clinic. The Clinic Receptionist is responsible for, but not limited to, accurate scheduling of appointments, patient registration, insurance verification, collecting patient copays, check-in and check-out as well as gathering appropriate follow-up scheduling information. This position will also engage in multiple interpersonal professional communication options including multi-line telephones, direct patient messaging via EHR, intra-office messaging via EHR, patient text messaging via secure computer app, company email and instant messaging.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED - required Work experience: 1-year customer service experience preferred; Medical front office experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Able to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, clinic/hospital staff and the public Maintain composure in stressful situations Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions Basic computer and typing skills Excellent internal and external customer service skills Maintain confidentiality of information Effective problem solving Adhere to Corporation's attendance requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lift and carry up to 30 pounds Sit for long periods of time - up to 12 hours per day depending upon work location and shift Requires some bending, stooping and stretching Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment Normal range of hearing and sight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate information Able to use or be trained to use office equipment such as computer, copier, fax, multi-line phones Ability to read, write and speak clearly and effectively with patients and co-workers
