Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist performs a wide variety of responsible office work in support of the operations of the Township. In addition to this routine work, the Receptionist also displays initiative in successfully solving non-routine problems encountered.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives visitors and telephone calls, providing general information regarding Township policies, responding to requests for service, notes resident concerns and complaints, as well as routing inquiries to other members of Township Staff as appropriate. Accepts payment for taxes and fees for services and routes these payments to the Township Treasurer, Township Tax Collector, or Municipal Authority Administrator as appropriate. Has primary responsibility for ensuring the Township's newsletter mailing list and business list are kept up-to-date, incorporating information contained in reports from various sources and from original inquiries. Has primary responsibility for ensuring adequate office supplies are available for use by Township Staff, conducting inventories and ordering materials as needed. Has primary responsibility for opening, categorizing, prioritizing, and distributing mail to appropriate Township Staff or elected officials. Assists other Township Staff in recording requests for service, including but not limited to: scheduling building inspections, adding properties to the Public Works limb chipping list, scheduling recycle cart delivery, and reserving Township facilities. Assists other Township Staff in producing mass mailings including printing materials and stuffing envelopes. Assists the Township Manager in maintaining the Township website and social media, including authoring calendar entries and posting informational items. Assists the Permits Administrator in routing permit applications to the proper reviewing parties including the Township Codes Official, Township Engineer, or other consultants as engaged by the Township. Assists the Permits Administrator in accepting construction plans and plan documents for permit processing, and in calculating fees for building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, stormwater, and other types of building permits. Assists the Permits Administrator in reviewing received applications for completeness. Assists the Permits Administrator in administering a field inspection scheduling system. Assists the Permits Administrator, Treasurer, and Secretary in scanning and organizing files for storage in the Township's electronic records management system. Assists the Secretary in maintaining a variety of records, including locating records for Right-to-Know Law requests as needed. Assists the Secretary with distributing public hearing notices and agendas including the assembly of packets for the Board of Supervisors. Performs related duties as required.SUPERVISION

None.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A
High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in administrative support work involving extensive public contact is required. Coursework completed toward an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Previous experience in municipal, non-profit, or other government administration preferred.REQUIRED ABILITIES
Quickly learn and apply Township policies and procedures. Follow verbal and written instructions. Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. Establish effective working relationships with residents, property owners, contractors, and Township staff. Keep accurate records. Perform accurate arithmetic calculations and use a standard calculator with speed and accuracy. Operate and use a variety of office equipment and computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and web-based applications such a Google Documents. Maintain composure under difficult circumstances. Intermittently twist and reach office equipment. Stand, bend, squat, kneel or twist while using/clearing copy equipment or retrieving/returning files. Lift or carry weight of 25 pounds or less. Responsibly receive, process, and document cash and checks.PUBLIC IMAGE MAINTAINED
This position includes responsibility for maintaining a positive public image for the municipality when interacting with the general public, outside agencies/entities, other staff and staff consultants and elected officials and appointed volunteers.Job Type:
