Job Description
Who are we? Serving over 220 students in grades K-12, Logos Academy is an accredited, independent school dedicated to providing transformative urban education. Located in York, one of Pennsylvania's lowest performing public-school districts, we are committed to closing the achievement gap for students in poverty while remaining affordable through substantial scholarships. Two-thirds of our students live at or near the federal poverty line and attend Logos on generous scholarships. Who are we looking for? The Receptionist joyfully and flexibly supports the entire academic team by supporting, engaging, and welcoming our students and families, enabling the school to provide an excellent Christian education rooted in the love of Christ. The Receptionist is a learner and lover of God, people, and authenticity. The school seeks to follow the Classical tradition in habit formation, hospitality, and learning and growing together. What the job involves In the role of Receptionist , you will play a critical role in providing support in the areas of reception, security, telephone, student attendance and transportation, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. More specifically, you will be responsible for: Reception, Security and Telephone Greet staff, students, parents, donors, and visitors with a pleasant and professional disposition Request identification and/or question all persons entering the facility whom are not recognized before allowing entrance to the facility Ensure sign-in, sign-out, and badge distribution (guest stickers) as required for all persons entering the facility, and maintain files of all logs Ensure host accompaniment of all visitors throughout the facility Answer all incoming calls; direct calls as appropriate Maintain reception records, logbook, forms, and paperwork Maintain regular communication with the administrative assistant team, prioritizing immediate communication to the other Receptionist. Attendance Ensure daily lunch and attendance selections are recorded by teachers Update faculty regarding daily dismissal changes Track and print building attendance in case of emergency and to report to academic assistants. Record in school management system as able throughout the day. Busing/Transportation Communicate day to day busing updates with families, staff, bus companies, and districts. Miscellaneous Responsibilities Distribute early drop-off/late pick-up fee forms Stamp, packages, notes for staff, or notes for parents through appropriate channels Coordinate with the supervisor on written policies and procedures for front desk protocols Other duties as assigned by the supervisor Minimum requirements: Passionate commitment to Logos Academy's core values: Live with Christ at the center, honor the personhood of all children, restore relationships with love and truth, and learn for a life of renewal. Ability to effectively communicate in both English and Spanish or Haitian Creole is required. Ability to effectively manage several tasks simultaneously. Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and flexibility. Proficient typing and computer (Gmail, Google, Excel, Word) skills. Must be reliable including but not limited to punctuality and attendance. Commitment to advancing the mission of Logos Academy through hard work, innovation, partnership with the Development Department, and in good stewardship of resources. Commitment to helping Logos in advancing the technology plan through personal growth and initiative. High school diploma, as well as receptionist or clerical experience. Effective interpersonal communication skills and friendly, outgoing personality.
