Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting patients with their next appointment after seeing the doctor, as well as treating all patients in a professional and courteous manner. Review patient chart to verify necessary information and signatures have been obtained, collect any payments that are necessary, and send required documentation to referring physicians. Ensure the patient feels taken care of and continues to return in order to receive top quality health care treatment.
Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Experience in medical practice preferred but not required.

Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work as a team member. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Highly motivated and organized. Empathetic with patients' needs and concerns. Excel under pressure. Attention to detail. Treat patients and co-workers with respect.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Patient Check-Out
  • Responsible for greeting everyone in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Assist patients and communicate with them, as needed.
  • Evaluate chart data to verify all information has been received, completed, and signatures obtained.
  • Ensure that proper authorization or referral is collected from the patient.
  • Assist patients in obtaining authorization or referrals that need to be done if a referral is made to another specialty.
  • Collect any payments that were not collected at check in.
  • Ensure documentation is sent to referring physicians, nursing homes, VA and more. 2. Administrative
  • Place telephone calls to patients to confirm upcoming appointments and verify information required of the patient at the time of appointment.
  • Provide back-up support on telephones.
  • Perform other duties, as required.
  • Assist other front office personnel, as needed.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
