Veterinary Receptionist

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at a surgical specialty hospital. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth operation within the hospital, providing a welcoming environment for both clients and their fur babies. Duties Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the hospital's calendar efficiently. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and manage billing processes. Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations and procedures as needed. Provide information to clients about medications, treatments, and follow-up care. Ensure the reception, exam rooms, and hospitality area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Schedule 8-6 Monday through Thursday and Friday 8-12. Skills Experience in a veterinary hospital prefered Strong knowledge of veterinary surgical procedures to provide accurate information to clients. Familiarity with animal physiology to assist in client education regarding pet health. Ability to perform basic veterinary assistant tasks, including medication administration, as well as weight and temperature history. Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service in a veterinary hospital setting. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks effectively.
