Job Description

•Granbury ISD requires references from former employers, college professors, supervisors, etc and will not accept references from friends or family members.•
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Organize and manage the routine work activities of the reception area, and provide clerical services as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
Spanish speaking preferred but not required Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance Effective communication and interpersonal skills Basic math skills Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
Experience:
Three years of secretarial experience, in a public education environment preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Work the front desk A. Greet all visitors B. Set the tone for the campus C. Be friendly, courteous and helpful D. Answer questions for students, parents, staff, public and central office personnel 2. Answer the phones A. Transfer calls B. Take accurate messages C. Arrange questions (know everything about everyone, every activity, every schedule) 3. Support Assistant Principals with substitute teachers A. Call them when necessary B. Distribute assignments C. Arrange to have someone cover individual classes when needed D. Help staff and subs with the calling system 4. Maintain log of employees 5. Monitor two-way radios 6. Sell athletic tickets in season 7. Help make deposits and give receipts as needed (varies by campus) 8. Make ID cards (varies by campus) 9. Assist in sorting and delivering mail (varies by campus) 10. Supervise student aides (varies by campus)
