Front Desk Receptionist 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars
Job Summary:
Responsibilities include answering the switchboard and pagers overhead, greets and directs people to the appropriate departments. The PBX operator monitors the hospital alarms and must be aware of the policy and procedures of all hospital emergency codes. Ability to communicate with population served from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescence young adults and middle adults and middle adults to geriatrics. Demonstrates Competency in theFollowing Areas:
- Strong interpersonal/public relations skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse environment.
- Ability to operate concurrently within a variety of hospital systems.
- Keyboarding skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions and establish priorities effectively.
- Dependable in both production and attendance
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations.
- To assist the office staff by performing general office duties.
Professional Requirements:
- Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
- Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
- Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments and staff.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Knowledge of phone list for all department extensions and transfers all calls to appropriate departments. Knowledge of phone list for all department manger's pager numbers, alpha numeric computer paging system, and pages timely and accordingly.
- Uses the appropriate vocabulary when conversing with the patients, physicians or other department personnel.
- Demonstrates good judgement in arranging for vendors, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies to be escorted into hospital.
Regulatory Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent required. Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desired.Work Location:
