Job Description

We are looking for a full time Medical Receptionist to join our team and manage our front desk. We are a well established, fast paced, high volume ophthalmology practice and offer a rewarding, enjoyable, and stimulating work environment. We value good communication and interpersonal skills, dependability, efficiency, and a desire to continually learn.
Duties:
Schedule appointments for patients Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Maintain reception and waiting area. Check in Obtain, record, and update personal and financial information. Call insurance companies as needed for eligibility checks, pre-authorization. Explain consent forms to patients. Scan documents into PM software. Obtain previous records and send documentation to other providers. Check out Record/collect patient charges. Print/mail statements. Call patients for appointment reminders Update calendars and schedule meetings Function as administrative assistant to physician/office manager to complete paper work or assist in clinic. Work closely with other office members cooperatively to learn and improve practice. Skills Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers) Professional attitude and appearance Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Excellent organizational skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Customer service attitude High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus Spanish fluency is encouraged
