This is a part time position of 18 hours per week. The point of sales position at the front desk. Responsible for greeting the public, scheduling appointments for salon services, checking clients in and out, taking payments, using salon software to book clients, input students, list and describe services, keeping the front desk and lobby area organized. Provides a variety of administrative support duties in relation to the Department of Human Service Careers (Salon, Spa & Barbering). Candidates Eligible to

Regular Minimum Education/Training/Experience Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of general clerical or office support experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Preferred Education/Training/Experience Customer service experience; salon/spa experience; retail experience. Minimum Knowledge & Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of students and clients in a diverse community. Word processing and/or data entry skills. Knowledge of office management principles and procedures. Organizing and coordinating skills. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Knowledge of general retail accounting principles, and appointment booking. Preferred Knowledge & Skills Bilingual (Spanish/English) Proficiency with salon/ Point of sale systems Licensing/Certification Requirements none required. Job Duties Welcomes and screens visitors, clients, and prospective students via telephone calls and in person, providing factual information which may require the interpretation and application of procedures; takes messages or refers the caller, prospective student, or member of the public to the appropriate person/ department. Enters, edits, and retrieves client data and appointments from appointment booking system. Handles receiving payments for services and retail. Balances the daily payment intake. Creates the deposit transmittal forms. Records intake of purchased items by the college Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Handles confidential student files Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Attendance Required. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Minimum Salary Range:
9.88/hr
