Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a part-time Veterinary Receptionist, where your energetic and friendly demeanor will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals. In this vital role, you will manage appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and client communication while supporting the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a welcoming environment that ensures every pet and owner feels cared for and confident in our services. Duties Greet clients warmly and efficiently check pets in and out, ensuring accurate record keeping Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar to optimize workflow Collect payments and perform medical collections with professionalism and accuracy Answer phone calls promptly, providing clear information about services, appointments, and pet care tips Maintain detailed client records, including medical history, treatment plans, and billing information Assist with kennel duties such as animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring pets' well-being Support veterinary staff by preparing animals for examinations using proper animal restraint techniques Handle laboratory tasks such as sample collection or processing as needed for diagnostic testing Assist with pet grooming or basic dog training activities to improve animal comfort and behavior Ensure aseptic techniques are followed during procedures to maintain a sterile environment Experience Previous experience in a veterinary setting or animal care environment is highly preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques is essential Experience with medical collections, pet grooming, dog handling, and kennel duties is advantageous Familiarity with laboratory procedures, animal catheterization, and veterinary critical care practices is a plus Hands-on experience with equine or large animal handling can benefit the role but is not mandatory Strong communication skills combined with a passion for animal welfare are key to success in this position This part-time Veterinary Receptionist role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute to animal health while developing valuable skills in a supportive environment.
