Multiple locations serve Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and surrounding states with crane rentals and service.
Description Summary:
A Receptionist is responsible for operating a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls. The individual directs callers to appropriate personnel, and completes a variety of administrative duties. The Receptionist usually works under direct supervision and expected to work as long as necessary to perform his/her job responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel. Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of calls, and forward calls to appropriate personnel or department. Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable. Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information. Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel. Monitors visitor access. Tracks the In and Out of appropriate personnel. Receives, sorts, and routes mail; maintains and routes publications. Maintains fax machines, assists users, sends faxes, and retrieves and routes incoming faxes. Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies. Creates and prints fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents. Performs filing, photocopying, and collating. Performs other tasks assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential:
High School diploma or equivalent. Three to six months related experience and/or training. Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
Desired:
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with employees, customers, and vendors. Strong computer skills. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Manages difficult or emotional customer situations. Prefer candidates with proficient oral and written communication skills, technical skills, and functional skills.
Physical Demands:
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires employers to identify essential functions of a role. Approximately 95% of time spent in usual office conditions. Approximately 5% of time spent in external conditions which may include temperature variance, elevated noise levels, dust, and fumes. Work Environment:
