Overview Join a dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist, where your enthusiasm and organizational skills will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals. You will be instrumental in managing appointments, handling client communications, and supporting veterinary staff with essential administrative tasks. Duties Greet clients warmly and provide outstanding customer service at the front desk, ensuring a positive experience for pet owners and visitors Schedule appointments efficiently using veterinary software, coordinating with veterinary professionals to optimize daily operations Manage medical collections by processing payments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate financial records Handle incoming calls professionally, addressing client inquiries regarding pet health, appointment scheduling, and clinic services Maintain detailed records of patient visits, treatments, and medical histories in compliance with veterinary confidentiality standards Assist with animal restraint during check-ins or procedures as needed, ensuring safety for both animals and staff Support veterinary team by managing laboratory sample intake, updating patient files, and organizing clinic supplies Requirements Prior experience in veterinary clinics or animal handling environments is highly preferred, including kennel experience and animal husbandry skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine practices Proficiency in veterinary software systems and Microsoft Office applications for record keeping and communication Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients from diverse backgrounds Familiarity with drug enforcement regulations (DEA) and USDA regulations related to veterinary practices is advantageous Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; experience with dog training or animal restraint is a plus Knowledge of laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and veterinary critical care practices enhances your suitability for this role This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a supportive environment dedicated to animal health and client satisfaction.
