Education:

College degree required. Concentration in hospitality, sales, communications or recreation. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, members, guests, and co-workers. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts. Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. Arrive to work on time, consistently. 2. Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair. 3. Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval. 4. Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings. 5. Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment. 6. Read and familiarize oneself with the daily activities on property. 7. Review any new memorandums posted, and verify your schedule for next shift. 8. Perform shift communication with previous shift employees as well as the next shift. 9. Answer all calls promptly (within four rings) and with a smile. 10. Be conscious of using polite, appropriate vocabulary and tone. 11. Handle all calls using the provided dialogues as a guide. 12. Capable of answering questions about hotel/resort facilities; be knowledgeable about Ponte Vedra Beach and the surrounding communities. 13. Have a thorough understanding of systems operations, PBX trunking, computer, in-house telephone station, and radio unit. 14. Communicate actively with related departments (PBX, Bellstand, Conference Services, Housekeeping) to facilitate open lines of communication. 15. Handle guest and employee messages accurately and efficiently. 16. Perform follow-up and verification procedures regularly (trunk verification, active messages). 17. Report any equipment problems to the Systems Manager or M.O.D. immediately. 18. Assist other departments as able. 19. Clean, maintain, and stock office as needed or directed. 20. Work closely with business center attendant, and when that office closes, monitor the incoming faxes. 21. Maintain lines of communication with the Security and Maintenance staff on duty. 22. Make an effort to monitor department heads on property, and encourage them to keep you advised of their whereabouts. 23. Knowledgeable of 911 procedures, making sure that they are handled according to our written policy. 24. Perform and follow up on any other duties assigned by the Manager on Duty or Lodging Director.
