A Switchboard or Telephone Operator works for a telephone company or system to operate telephone system equipment to route incoming calls, direct internal calls, or assist customers with placing calls. Assists with connecting long distance or collect calls, or provides customers with assistance in finding a phone number or an address. May also answer customer calls at a company or organization or work for an agency that handles and routes emergency calls.

Minimum Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, speak fluently in English. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail. Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner. Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
