• Summary/Objective The Registrar/Switchboard Coordinator is responsible for managing all the staff responsible for customer service, registration of all ancillary departments and answering a multi-line phone and patient account payment transactions. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Responsible for scheduling Switchboard operators. Responsible for direct report timecards in ADP. Responsible for shift coverage. Vacation approval requests/coverage for requested time off for direct reports. On- call 24/7. Interview applications for new staff for Switchboard. Train new staff for Switchboard. Make sure all staff are following IMH rules. Report any issues to the Director, VP and HR. Request change of staff for department/computer access for direct reports. Train staff of changes in registration. Train staff of changes in insurance updates. Responsible for daily observation log. Responsible for daily PCU log. Review Case Management log for changes in patient status and make corrections. Communicate with the Case management and Prior authorization departments for patients status. Review weekend prior authorizations form to make sure ED to PCU were completed. Review daily ED registrations. Make corrections to registration with errors. Inform staff of errors. Re-train staff when necessary. Responsible for calling upcoming surgery patients to go over procedure copays. Responsible for keeping specialty clinic schedules updated at switchboard/outpatient registration. Responsible for keeping the department on-call book updated at switchboard. Responsible for keeping the staff directory book updated. Responsible for keeping the procedure book updated. Responsible for keeping code book and code flip book updated. Responsible for keeping code white call lists updated with switchboard/outpatient employee names and telephone contact. Responsible for making sure the weather radio is working and all staff understand when to call a code grey or a code black and who to contact. Order department supplies. Attend required meetings. Is flexible and adapts to change and new tasks Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred, plus one year of office/clerical support or experience working with the public. The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
