Job Description Job Description Job Description (Vicksburg, MS): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Quality Assurance & Control Specialist to oversee quality control, compliance, and safety standards across construction, restoration, and reconstruction projects. This position will conduct field inspections, work closely with project teams and subcontractors, document findings, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Travel to various project sites and immediate travel for emergency response efforts may be required.
Essential Duties:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures for construction, restoration, and reconstruction projects.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to company standards, project specifications, industry standards, building codes, and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular on-site inspections to evaluate workmanship, materials, safety practices, and compliance.
  • Identify quality and compliance issues and provide guidance to project teams on corrective actions.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and applicable OSHA standards across project sites.
  • Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, project engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other team members to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Evaluate the quality of materials and services provided by suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain professional standards and ensure project personnel and subcontractors adhere to applicable professional and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate quality control efforts during emergency response, disaster recovery, and natural disaster situations.
  • Develop detailed quality control reports and maintain accurate inspection, testing, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams regarding quality control processes, construction standards, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality control processes, efficiency, and project outcomes.
  • Review schedules of values, invoices, proposals, and change order estimates as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of man-hour production rates and material costs when reviewing project activities.
  • Review CPM schedule submittals and updates and assist with schedule recovery plans and evaluation of delay claims.
  • Stay current on construction industry standards, regulations, technology, and best practices.
  • Travel to project sites as required and be available for immediate travel during emergency response efforts.
Requirements/Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects within the construction, restoration, or reconstruction industry.
  • Current OSHA-30 certification or ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days.
  • Strong knowledge of construction worksite safety practices, OSHA requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; sufficient applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree is a plus.
  • Certifications in quality control or related fields are a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills required with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, construction technology, multiple construction trades, quality workmanship, testing, and building code requirements.
  • Familiarity with construction and project management software and tools.
  • Working knowledge of CPM scheduling and construction activity durations.
  • Strong understanding of project documentation, scheduling, costs, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, review, and document a wide range of project activities with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage a deadline-driven workload.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and influence others.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving, and drug screen.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to regularly work outdoors in an active construction environment, including approximately 85% outdoor work.
  • Ability to walk and/or drive across rough, uneven, dusty, muddy, wet, and noisy construction sites.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications, reports, schedules, estimates, spreadsheets, and other documents in hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Ability to use a computer, calculator, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to type, write, and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • May be exposed to dust, asphalt, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, loud noise, vibration, and other active construction site conditions.
  • May occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and electrical hazards.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and follow all applicable site safety requirements.
