The Role We're looking for an Export Control Specialist to build and own our export compliance function at our Arlington, Texas distribution facility. This is a high-visibility role with real scope — you'll be the subject matter expert on U.S. export regulations, the go-to resource for Sales and Operations, and the person who keeps our global shipments moving cleanly and compliantly. If you're someone who knows the EAR, takes OFAC screening seriously, and wants to own a compliance program rather than just be a small part of one — this is worth a close look. What You'll Do › Classify electronic components on the Commerce Control List (CCL) and maintain ECCN data in our ERP system. › Screen customers, end-users, and freight forwarders against BIS, OFAC, and State Department restricted party lists — and make clear disposition calls on the results. › Review transactions for red flags and conduct enhanced due diligence when needed. › Determine license requirements, apply license exceptions, and manage license applications with BIS when required. › Oversee AES/EEI filing accuracy for all applicable export shipments. › Develop and maintain Chip 1 Exchange's Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP). › Train Sales, Purchasing, and Operations teams on export compliance requirements. › Monitor regulatory developments — especially BIS semiconductor rules — and communicate impact to the business. What We're Looking For › 2+ years of hands-on export compliance experience with a working knowledge of the EAR (15 CFR Parts 730-774) and OFAC sanctions programs. › Experience performing ECCN classification and restricted party screening in a production environment. › Familiarity with AES/EEI filing and export documentation requirements. › Strong judgment — this role has authority to hold a shipment, and you need to be comfortable using it. › Clear written communication skills for documenting decisions, drafting policy, and training non-compliance colleagues. › EAR-focused experience in electronics, semiconductor distribution, or manufacturing is a strong plus. › CUSECO or ECoP certification a plus — not required.
