Title Examiner (Contractor) - (This is not a NC State Employee) North Carolina License Plate Agency Durham, NC Job Details Full-time $16 - $18 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Microsoft Outlook Customer service Microsoft Office High school diploma or GED Dependability Data entry Technical Proficiency Full Job Description License Plate Agency (LPA) Title Clerk (North Carolina contract workforce) , working at a LPA agent location, is responsible for accurately processing and managing vehicle titles, ensuring compliance with state regulations by verifying vehicle ownership, completing title transfers, and coordinating with customers and dealerships to facilitate smooth transactions, all while maintaining a high level of customer service and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Title Processing:
Receive and review vehicle title applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Verify vehicle ownership through state databases and registration records. Calculate and collect appropriate fees for title transfers and registrations. Process title transfers for new vehicle purchases, vehicle sales, and ownership changes. Issue new vehicle titles and registration documents.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Accurately input vehicle information into the DMV system. Maintain detailed records of all title transactions, including lienholder information. File and organize title documents according to state regulations.
Customer Service:
Assist customers with questions regarding vehicle titles and registration processes. Explain complex regulations and procedures in a clear and concise manner. Resolve customer concerns and issues promptly and efficiently.
Compliance and Audit:
Adhere to all state DMV regulations and guidelines related to vehicle titling. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure accuracy of title transactions. Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency with computer systems and data entry
