Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Title Abstractor to join our dynamic real estate team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis of property titles, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of title information and reports. Your expertise will help facilitate smooth property transactions, support legal compliance, and maintain the integrity of our title plant database. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment where precision, research skills, and customer service are essential for success. Duties Conduct comprehensive research on property titles using company database, public records, legal documents, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to verify ownership history and encumbrances Abstract legal descriptions, chain of title, and relevant property data to create clear title reports for summary and review by attorneys and escrow team Identify and analyze potential title issues that may impact the property. Index and organize title plant records systematically to ensure quick retrieval and accuracy for ongoing transactions Collaborate with law offices, title agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless title processing and resolve discrepancies Prepares initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines and reviews reports for accuracy Maintain detailed documentation of research findings, updates, and corrections in accordance with industry standards Support the preparation of title reports by compiling relevant data and ensuring compliance of company procedural guidelines Must work well in a team environment and open to cross-collaboration across departments to achieve success Prepares accurate and comprehensive title commitments in accordance with company examining and policy procedures Communicates and explains complex information, including interdependencies within the team and others Provide backup support for Title Plant to Index files as needed based on new updates received. Performs all other duties as assigned by management Skills Attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving Strong knowledge of real estate law, property rights, and title processing procedures are strongly desired Excellent research skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and historical records Exceptional organizational skills to manage large volumes of records efficiently Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, legal professionals, and internal teams Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal are essential Experience working within a law office or real estate environment is highly desirable Join us in this vital role where your work directly impacts successful property transactions!
