Job Description

New Day Recovery is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Admissions Coordinator to support the intake and admissions process for detoxification and residential treatment services. This role serves as a key point of contact for clients, referral sources, insurance providers, and internal teams to help ensure a smooth and supportive admission experience. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and comfortable navigating insurance verification and authorization processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external calls, fostering positive communication with clients, referral sources, and third-party payors. Coordinate the intake and admission process for new clients, ensuring eligibility, accuracy, and compliance with program criteria. Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and authorization requirements for all admissions. Assist non-covered individuals in identifying alternative funding sources when possible. Communicate client financial responsibilities and coordinate payment arrangements with designated staff. Maintain awareness of ASAM criteria for levels of care and all third-party payor requirements for detoxification and residential services. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation consistent with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations. Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams to support seamless client transitions. Participate in staff meetings, training, and process improvement efforts to enhance admissions efficiency and client experience. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Successful completion of BCI/FBI background check and pre-employment drug screen Associate degree in healthcare administration or Medical Assistant Certification preferred Minimum one (1) year of experience in admissions coordination, insurance verification, medical billing, or related healthcare administration
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
Knowledge of ASAM criteria and behavioral health levels of care Familiarity with Medicaid and commercial insurance authorization processes Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
