Monday•Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings & weekends required.
Job Summary:
The Admissions Representative I counsels individuals throughout the admissions and enrollment process based on their individual circumstances or needs. Evaluates prospective student's academic preparation and interests to determine appropriate opportunities at the University. Represents the University at on•and off-campus events and information sessions. Provides superior customer service for prospective students and families.
Additional Department Summary:
Plays a key role in the University's efforts to identify and enroll qualified undergraduate students and will be an on-campus and field representative of the University. Coordinates and plans in-depth visits for prospective students and families, enabling each prospective student to experience the full extent of the in•and out-of-classroom experiences on campus. Assists visitors in the main Admissions Office and/or the Admissions Welcome Center. Attends college fairs, makes presentations, and communicates information with prospective students, their families, guidance counselors, alumni, and friends of UA.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. Must be able to travel alone out of town, sometimes overnight.
Skills and Knowledge:
Capability to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of sometimes heavy recruitment materials. Interest in working with prospective college students and their families. Ability to work with various groups of people. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs).
