Department Highlights:
  • The Applications Specialist is a key member of the Patient Access Services team including ER, Outpatient and Scheduling.
  • Orientation and training and remediation of PAS team on mulitple campus.
  • Provides support to staff and PAS leadership to meet KPI goals and target.
  • Team-oriented work environment with expanded resources from other Patient Access areas.
  • Implementation of new and existing projects.
  • Supports and performs quality measures to meet Rev Cycle, PAS and regulatory objectives
Here's What You Need:
  • Education H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required Other Healthcare or related field 2 years college coursework preferred
  • Experience 3 Years Experience in Insurance verification, Hospital Admitting, or Business Office required. Previous technical support, training, and beta testing experience preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications CHAA
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire CHAM
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager Upon Hire Skills and Abilities:
  • Analytical and administrative skills necessary to accurately compile statistics, write Ad hoc reports, maintain logs, and input data into various computer programs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse user groups.
  • Planning and project management skills.
  • PC proficient with knowledge of software including all Microsoft applications.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, documentation, and customer service skills required.
What You Will Do:
  • Duties to include, but not limited to: Responsible for onboarding new hires and completing Patient Access competency checklist review.
Responsible for developing training tools and resources to support all areas of the Patient Access Department and departments without Patient Access personnel. Completes on-site, monthly rounds to provide a dedicated presence and accessibility with all entities that report to the Patient Access Leader. Supports scheduled/unscheduled downtimes and disaster preparedness which includes but is not limited to training team members, patient account reconciliation, and ensuring adequate supply of required downtime documents. Manages departmental information systems acting as the primary point of contact for questions and issues related to Information Systems such as Trace, Prelude, and Optime. Works with Information Systems and vendors for testing and implementation of new software systems and upgrades. Responsible for work queues, monthly auditing, Point site, and report management as assigned by Patient Access Leadership. Participates in department meetings by creating content and presenting applicable department and system updates as assigned by Patient Access Leadership.
