The ideal candidate for this position is someone with extensive experience in industrial/commercial construction with experience in steel structures, overseeing the progress of each assigned project in a timely and cost-effective manner. As a Structural Steel Project Manager, you ensure that the project scope aligns with the budget and that staff complete each project phase within the scheduled timeline. What YOU get to DO at this growing company Manage multiple parallel projects using formal project planning techniques. Review and assess vendor proposals. Set up and manage project schedules, objectives, and deliverables. Establish fabrication schedules and oversee production timelines. Coordinate subcontractors and vendors. Communicate progress toward production, financial, quality, and safety goals to internal and external stakeholders. Negotiate and manage change orders. Establish and maintain customer relationships. Oversee process improvements in projects with limited precedents that may have enterprise-wide impact. Monitor and manage vendor relationships. Prepare, present, and distribute project and program information to both internal and external groups. Identify resource and equipment requirements, oversee capacity planning, and manage software/hardware availability. What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role Bachelor's degree from an accredited university 5 years of commercial/industrial construction industry experience, with a MINIMUM of 2-3 years managing Structural Steel Erector projects. Experience with commercial fabrication and/or detailing is a plus. Familiarity with the AISC Manual of Steel Construction for developing conforming shop and erection drawings. Knowledge of construction codes and practices. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience with FabSuite and Tekla preferred. Proficiency with Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, and Trimble Connect software.
