Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as the first line of service to our community. Our patient satisfaction begins with the registration process, updating personal and insurance information, and preparing the patient to see their provider. This position also addresses incoming telephone calls and assists with scheduling patient appointments as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and co-workers. Maintain and ensure confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI). Complete opening duties, doors, sign, and wheelchairs. Admit patients, verify appointment time, demographics and insurance. Complete Medicare MSP form when needed. Give patients paperwork to complete when necessary. Scan when complete. Schedule patients when necessary. Notify nursing staff when patients return from Lab and X-Ray. Assist Pharmaceutical representatives, schedule lunches and sample pick-up. Collect co-pays and payment for RHC services. Follow all SMH RHC policies and procedures. Attend required meetings/trainings and participate in committees as required. Demonstrate appropriateness in meeting objectives in age-specifics. Perform other duties as assigned. High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of office equipment. Knowledge and relevant experience in a medical office setting. Willing to do all office procedures. Willing to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and/or holidays. Computer experience required. Heartsaver CPR Certified (obtain upon employment)
