Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The Club Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading daily engagement opportunities for Abe's Garden Club participants. This role provides structured programming, companionship, and limited assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to support each participant's cognitive, physical, and social well-being. This role mentors Care Partners, guides volunteers, maintains program materials, and fosters a safe, compassionate, person-centered environment grounded in the principles of the I'm Still Here Approach©.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engagement Planning & Facilitation Plan, develop, and lead daily engagement programs for Abe's Garden Club participants. Create monthly engagement calendars that reflect participant interests and abilities. Utilize the I'm Still Here Approach© to deliver meaningful, strengths-based programming. Research and pilot new engagement offerings to enhance program quality. Ensure programming spaces and materials are well-prepared, organized, and supportive of participant success. Provide assistance with ADLs as needed, including toileting, eating, dressing, and mobility support. Offer companionship through authentic conversation, one-on-one engagement, and attentive presence. Monitor participant safety and support fall prevention practices. Respond promptly to participant needs and changing conditions. Report high-risk behaviors, critical incidents, and observations regarding participant status to leadership. Participate in care plan meetings and contribute meaningful input to support participant goals. Communicate regularly with family members regarding participant progress and observations. Direct and support volunteers involved in Club programming and daily engagement. Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator regarding volunteer needs and feedback. Coach and mentor Care Partners to effectively facilitate groups and one-on-one engagements. Promote teamwork and shared accountability to ensure a positive environment for participants and staff. Maintain program supplies, including organization, inventory, and replenishment. Assist in maintaining a relaxed, emotionally supportive program environment. Maintain regular and timely attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience providing engagement or dementia-related care in adult day, assisted living, or similar settings required. CPR/BLS certification required. Ability to pass TBI fingerprinting background check. Preferred credentials include Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Activity Director, Recreation Therapy, or related certifications. Ability to play a musical instrument preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must meet continuing education requirements per state regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to sit and stand for up to 8 hours. Walking, bending, and light lifting up to 50 lbs. Must demonstrate a calm, friendly voice and professional demeanor appropriate for older adults.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
