QCARE has been a leader in after school education in the City of Quincy for over 35 years. We are a small private non-profit that values each employee as an individual member of the QCARE family. Quincy After School Child Care (QCARE) seeks Group Leaders or Assistant Group Leaders to work within a dynamic staffing team to deliver high quality, EEC licensed after school care to Quincy youth. Our programs are designed to compliment the school-day, with an enrichment-based curriculum, located in Quincy Public Schools. We are currently seeking staff members who are available Monday-Friday from 1:30pm to 5:30pm (every Wednesday the shift will be either 11:00am or 11:30am
  • 5:30pm).
Some limited schedules are able to be accommodated. There are occasional paid evening or daytime meetings or trainings during weekdays. There are no weekend hours. All holidays and emergency closings that fall during scheduled work days are PAID! The position begins immediately and continues throughout the school year. Candidates will meet the following basic criteria: You are a team player whose core values of compassion, teamwork, resilience and joy are in line with ours. You are comfortable supporting learning through homework help, support with assignments, reading to children, and leading learning enrichment activities. You are eager to engage with youth, supervise their safety, and support their physical, intellectual, emotional and social growth. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • First Aid & CPR Certification (QCARE will coordinate training if needed)
  • Ability to constantly position self in order to visually supervise children in care at all times; including ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to spend at least half of the day moving or standing and may be required to remain stationary in a seated position while supervising children in care.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds in all directions and be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to provide homework support or coaching in areas like group games
  • Experience working with children in a childcare setting is a plus
  • Classroom management skills and ability to handle behavior management is a plus
  • Special education or teaching experience is a plus
  • Understanding of childhood development and early childhood education is a plus
  • Familiarity with Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Regulations is a plus
