This dynamic position combines educational support, transportation responsibilities, and camp supervision. You will foster a welcoming environment that promotes childhood development, teamwork, and fun while maintaining safety and structure throughout all activities.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, sports, homework assistance, and outdoor games Create a positive, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth Supervise students at all times to ensure safety and well-being Assist with homework and daily aftercare routines Provide guidance and support to students, including addressing individual needs (dietary, behavioral, etc.) Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and incidents Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and enjoyable program Participate in daily activities including games, storytelling, music, and group interactions
Driver Duties:
Safely transport students from local elementary schools and on field trips, following all safety regulations Support children in developing life skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving Assist with planning and coordinating summer camp programs and special events
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent DCF 45 Child Care Hours (or willing to obtain) Experience working with children (preferred) CDA or willingness to obtain (a plus) Valid Driver's License (REQUIRED) Clean driving record CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain) Energetic, reliable, and team-oriented
Skills:
Strong classroom and behavior management skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Ability to engage and motivate children of various ages Dependable, flexible, and energetic Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment & Requirements:
Active role requiring standing, walking, and engaging with children throughout the day Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Indoor and outdoor activities in various weather conditions
