Description/Notes:
We are looking for a dedicated educator to manage aprehensive Agricultural Education program. You will deliver classroom instruction, oversee Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs, and serve as a primary advisor for our FFA Chapter. This role requires a "boots-on-the-ground" leader who can manage a high-functioning shop, a greenhouse, and/or a barn facility while fostering elite student leadership.
Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
    Instructional Depth:
    Teach a variety of pathways which may include:
    Animal/Plant Science:
    Livestock production, veterinary medical applications, or floral design.
    • FFA Leadership:
      Train and coach Leadership Development Events (LDEs) in the fall and Career Development Events (CDEs) in the spring.
    SAE Supervision:
    Travel to student homes to supervise projects, providing technical guidance on livestock nutrition, health, and record-keeping via the AET.
    • Facilities Management:
      Maintain a safe and organized Agricultural shop, Ag Lab, or Kitchen ensuring all equipment meets OSHA and district safety standards.
    Community Engagement:
    Coordinate the local Project Show/Premium Sale and work closely with the Ag Booster Club. Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Ag-Education, or a related field.
    • Strong technical background in animal husbandry.
    • Must hold a valid Texas Educator Certificate in:
    Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources:
    Grades 6-12
    • Proficiency in The AET (Agricultural Experience Tracker) for record-keeping.
    • Valid Texas Driver's License (CDL preferred or required by some districts for hauling trailers).
    • Mastery of shop safety protocols and/or floral design techniques (TSFA Knowledge). Physical Demands & Commitment

    Schedule:
    Must be willing to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for stock shows.
      Physical Ability:
      Must be able to handle livestock, lift heavy feed bags, and work in various weather conditions (arenas, barns, shops).
      Salary Range:
      State Base Plus:
      • $3,000 above base stipend
      • Recruitment and Retention Bonus of $1,000
      • 1st year, $1,500
      • 2nd year, $2,500
      • 3rd year.
      • Yearly bonuses ranging from $1,000 to $5,000
      • Competitive FFA Advisor Stipend and additional days paid for summer related duties.
      • District Contributes $375/month toward health insurance
      • $10,000 Life Policy
      • District has a scholarship endowment for all students of WVISD of $2,600 for every year student is in attendance. ($33,800 for K-12 student continuously enrolled)
