(Department of Transportation) regulations Construction workplace safety regulations Full Job Description Job Summary The Aggregate Hauler is responsible for safely operating and driving belly dump trucks to transport and unload construction materials such as soil, gravel, sand, and rock between plants, pits, and job sites. This position plays a vital role in supporting production and project operations by ensuring materials are delivered efficiently, on time, and in compliance with company and DOT regulations. The Aggregate Hauler must maintain strong safety awareness, communication skills, and mechanical aptitude to ensure proper vehicle operation and safe material handling in all weather and road conditions. Key Responsibilities 1. Truck Operation & Material Transport Operate a belly dump truck to load, haul, and dump materials such as aggregates, soil, and sand. Safely maneuver vehicles in plants, pits, and job sites with limited space. Ensure materials are transported and dumped in designated locations according to job specifications. Maintain load stability and ensure compliance with weight limits and road safety laws. 2. Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections , checking fluids, tires, lights, and safety equipment. Replenish fuel, fluids, and perform basic maintenance as needed. Report any mechanical issues, damage, or unsafe conditions immediately. Keep trucks clean, properly serviced, and in safe working condition. 3. Safety & Compliance Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and environmental safety standards. Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Operate trucks defensively and with awareness of traffic, weather, and site conditions. Participate in safety meetings and promptly report near misses, incidents, or hazards. 4. Coordination & Communication Communicate clearly with dispatch, plant personnel, and site supervisors to coordinate delivery and dumping locations. Follow instructions and schedules provided by supervisors to ensure material deliveries align with project needs. Maintain professionalism when interacting with coworkers, site crews, and the public. 5. Recordkeeping Complete daily driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery tickets accurately and on time. Ensure all required documentation and load tickets are turned in at the end of each shift. Maintain accurate records for DOT compliance and company policies.Critical Skills Safety-Minded:

Ability to identify and report potential truck issues before they become major problems. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean MVR. Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience; belly dump or aggregate hauling experience preferred. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and Fit-for-Duty physical as conditions of employment. Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and construction site safety protocols. Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and maintenance preferred. Regular and predictable attendance required. Physical Requirements Must successfully pass a Fit-for-Duty assessment prior to employment. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds as needed. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing in and out of truck cabs, and handling tools or hoses. Ability to operate foot and hand controls simultaneously for extended periods. Tolerance for working in outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, and uneven terrain. Ability to work around heavy equipment, moving vehicles, and loud noise. Working Conditions Primarily field-based role operating at plants, pits, and job sites. Exposure to outdoor elements, traffic, noise, dust, and vibration. Work performed independently with constant awareness of surroundings and safety conditions. Schedule includes early mornings, long hours, weekends, and overtime as required by production demands.
