Magna, UT Job Details Full-time 22 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work High school diploma or GED Driver's License Power tools Hand tools Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Job Summary The Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and responds to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime. The Plant Mechanic works on plant equipment such as conveyors, mixers, batch plant components, and related systems. This role may also assist with welding, fabrication, and general plant repairs as needed. The Plant Mechanic must maintain a clean and safe work environment, follow all company safety procedures, and communicate equipment issues with the Plant Mechanic Lead and Plant Manager. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment to ensure reliable operation. Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical components including conveyors, mixers, batch plant systems, belts, bearings, motors, and gearboxes. Identify worn or damaged parts and complete repairs or replacements as needed. Troubleshooting and Repairs Respond to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns in a timely manner. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime. Assist in diagnosing recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions. Welding and Fabrication Assist with welding, cutting, and fabrication of plant equipment and structural components. Modify or repair equipment components as needed to maintain operational efficiency. Plant Support and Operations Support plant operations by assisting with mechanical repairs and maintenance of plant infrastructure. Work closely with plant operators and management to address equipment concerns. Communicate maintenance needs and repair updates to the Plant Mechanic Lead or Plant Manager. Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety policies and procedures while performing maintenance tasks. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Identify and report potential safety hazards or equipment concerns. Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety policies and procedures when performing maintenance and repairs. Comply with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment. Follow confined space, fall protection, and hot work safety procedures when applicable. Wear required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any hazards or unsafe conditions. Recordkeeping and Reporting Document maintenance activities and equipment repairs as required. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding maintenance status and equipment performance. Other Duties as Assigned Assist with additional maintenance tasks or operational needs as required to support plant operations.

Requirements Experience:
Previous experience as a mechanic, maintenance technician, or similar role preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver's license and Medical Certificate.
Technical Proficiency:
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical repair equipment.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with industrial plant equipment, mechanical systems, and maintenance practices preferred.
Additional Skills:
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Environment:
Primarily outdoor and industrial plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions.
Schedule:
Regular attendance is required; may require early mornings, extended hours, or weekend work depending on operational needs.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing. Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and access plant equipment. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical repair equipment. Ability to work in various weather conditions and industrial environments.
