Canopy Crew Member Green Cambridge Cambridge, MA Job Details Part-time $20.32 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications No experience needed Planting (gardening technique) Tree planting Full Job Description At Green Cambridge, we believe young people have the power to create a better, more climate-resilient world. We're looking for Cambridge teens aged 16 to 18 to join Canopy Crew, our paid 8-month internship program, and become the next generation of environmental leaders. This is more than just a job—it's a chance to get outside, learn valuable skills, and make a visible impact on your own community. As a Canopy Crew intern, starting in October 2026 through early May 2027, you will participate in education, training, outreach, and planting sessions. On Wednesdays, our weekly educational and training sessions will allow you to explore topics in urban forestry, environmental science, justice, policy, art, and sustainable city planning/design. Through guest speakers, activities, and field trips, you will have the opportunity to explore career opportunities in these fields, while also being trained in proper tree planting, tree identification, tree care and other hands-on urban forestry skills. On Saturdays, you will be physically planting trees with your cohort on residential properties throughout Cambridge, and conducting outreach and hosting events within Cambridge to recruit more participants in our tree planting program and to educate the community on the importance of trees and the Canopy Crew program. (The 2025-2026 cohort planted 83 trees across 49 properties and taught over 50 community members about trees!) During the spring session, the internship culminates with several youth-led events, including the Canopy Crew Capstone which is planned, designed, and executed by your cohort and presented to the broader community in Cambridge. Through planting trees, conducting outreach, and hosting educational events, crew members have the opportunity to grow their professional, technical, and leadership skills while building resilience against climate change in their own city.
