Ground man for tree work

In this energetic role, you will support arborists by handling essential groundwork tasks, ensuring the safety of crew members and the public while contributing to the health and aesthetics of trees and landscapes. Responsibilities Assist arborists by preparing work sites, including setting up rigging and safety zones to facilitate tree trimming, pruning, or removal projects. Operate bucket trucks and other equipment under supervision to help reach elevated areas safely and efficiently. Support with rigging tasks, including securing ropes and pulleys for safe tree dismantling or pruning operations. Help with landscape maintenance activities such as lawn care, planting, mulching, and general garden upkeep to support overall site health. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and inspected regularly. Assist with GIS (Geographic Information System) data collection for mapping and planning purposes related to tree inventories or landscape projects. Participate in ongoing training on tree care techniques, horticulture practices, and safety protocols to enhance growing experience and technical skills. Qualifications Previous experience or interest in tree care, landscaping, or horticulture is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential. Drivers license ( preferred standard transmission experience) Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques such as lawn care, pruning, and landscape maintenance is advantageous. Familiarity with equipment such as bucket trucks or bucket operation is a plus; training will be provided if needed. Understanding of rigging procedures for safe tree work is beneficial but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be available. Ability to follow safety guidelines diligently while working outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude and eagerness to grow within the industry. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
