Overview We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our landscape and outdoor facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of outdoor spaces through comprehensive groundskeeping activities. Your expertise will ensure that lawns, gardens, and hardscape features are well-kept, safe, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with landscaping and horticulture, and a commitment to safety protocols. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of diverse outdoor environments while working with a variety of tools and equipment. Responsibilities Perform lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, and trimming to maintain healthy and attractive turf. Operate ground maintenance equipment such as power tools, lawnmowers, excavators, and snow plows with precision and safety. Conduct landscape maintenance activities including planting, pruning, tree trimming, and plant identification to promote healthy growth. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed. Maintain hardscape features such as pathways, patios, and retaining walls by performing repairs or cleaning. Apply pesticides responsibly following safety protocols to control pests while protecting plants and surrounding environments. Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow plowing during winter months or preparing gardens for planting seasons. Use hand tools effectively for planting, pruning, or minor repairs while adhering to safety standards. Support construction or renovation projects involving landscaping or outdoor structures when required. Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Requirements Proven outdoor work experience with knowledge of landscape maintenance and gardening practices. Mechanical knowledge related to groundskeeping equipment operation including power tools, mowers, excavators, and irrigation systems. Familiarity with horticulture principles, plant identification, and tree care techniques. Experience in pesticide management and understanding of safety procedures related to chemical application. Ability to operate landscaping machinery safely and efficiently. Knowledge of hardscape installation or maintenance is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Construction experience or familiarity with outdoor project work is advantageous. Valid relevant certifications or licenses related to groundskeeping or equipment operation are preferred.
