Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Tree Climber and become a vital part of maintaining healthy, safe, and beautiful urban and rural landscapes. In this energetic role, you will ascend trees using specialized climbing techniques to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks that enhance tree health and safety. Your expertise will help ensure the safety of communities while supporting environmental stewardship. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in arboriculture, rigging, and landscape maintenance within a collaborative and safety-focused environment. Duties Climb trees safely using harnesses, ropes, and arborist rigging techniques to access difficult or elevated areas. Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal to promote healthy growth and mitigate hazards. Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment for efficient access to high branches. Use chainsaws and other tools responsibly for cutting, shaping, or removing trees and branches. Apply arborist rigging techniques to control the fall of large limbs or entire trees during removal processes. Conduct site assessments using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to map tree locations and health status. Follow strict safety protocols during all climbing, rigging, and tree care activities to protect yourself and team members. Requirements Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscape maintenance, or arboriculture. Strong knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, and plant health assessment. Experience operating bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other landscaping equipment safely. Familiarity with arborist rigging techniques and tree removal procedures. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, lifting heavy limbs or equipment, and working at heights. Knowledge of safety standards related to outdoor work environments and equipment use. Growing experience in horticulture or dendrology (study of trees) is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
